What does bespoke cabinetry actually cost in Norwich?

An honest breakdown of what you should expect to pay for properly made cabinetry across Norwich and Norfolk.

"How much?" is the most common first question, and the answer is always: depends. But let's get more specific.

Fitted wardrobes

A floor-to-ceiling run across a typical bedroom wall (3–4 metres), spray-finished MDF, soft-close hardware and LED interiors: £4,500–£8,500 fitted. Solid timber face frames and panelled doors add another 30–50%.

Bespoke kitchens

In-frame Shaker, painted, hand-fitted, including worktops and integrated appliance carpentry — typically £18,000–£45,000 for a kitchen of 8–14 units. Higher for solid hardwood doors or unusual configurations.

Media walls

A standard fitted media wall housing TV, soundbar and an electric fire: £3,500–£7,500 depending on materials and lighting. Solid hardwood feature walls higher.

Staircases

A bespoke oak feature staircase replacement: £6,500–£18,000+. Modern open-tread with glass balustrade adds cost; traditional cut-string less so.

What you're actually paying for

Bespoke joinery isn't expensive because of the materials (though they help). It's the time. A flat-pack wardrobe takes a fitter four hours. A bespoke one takes us four days — design, materials, build, install. That's where the difference shows.
